Sea-level rise starts to shape Florida’s housing market

In coastal Florida, home sales have slowed in the areas most exposed to sea-level rise while increasing in the areas least exposed. Home values have also started to level off in the most exposed areas.

Note: More exposed areas are census tracts where 70% or more of developed land would be inundated at a sea-level rise of 6 feet, while less exposed areas would see less than 10% of developed land inundated. Baseline is the average of sales and home values from 2001-2012.
