Israeli fence
The 37 mile (60km) long fence consists of an underground concrete barrier, barbed wire, intrusion detection equipment and watchtowers. The only way to leave Gaza is through two designated crossings, though these only let permitted people through.
Access prohibited by Israel
There is a fishing zone limit of six nautical miles (11km) in the north and 15 nautical miles
(28km) in
the south.
Gaza power plant
Has the capacity to generate just 16% of Gaza’s electricity demand (2022), the enclave is reliant on Israel to fill the deficit.
Inside the fence there is a 985 feet (300m) restricted area, only accessible by farmers.

Egyptian fence
This section is 8 miles (12.6km) long and was built by Egypt, which operates a pedestrian and goods crossing.
