SCOTUS rules 6-3 to throw out Louisiana's congressional map

The Supreme Court rejected the map as an unconstitutional gerrymander ahead of the midterm election. The decision will make it far harder for plaintiffs to challenge future maps for racial discrimination, limiting the Voting Rights Act.
