How the hantavirus outbreak unfolded
The MV Hondius started its journey from Argentina on April 1 with 114 passengers and 61 crew on board. It visited several remote islands in the South Atlantic before a hantavirus outbreak was suspected and reported to the World Health Organization in early May.
