The US miltary has ramped up surveillance missions around Cuba

The US Navy and Air Force have conducted at least 25 intelligence-gathering flights off the coast of Cuba in recent months, largely concentrating around Havana and Santiago de Cuba, the nation's two largest cities. Last year, the US flew only a handful of intelligence-gathering aircraft near Cuba.
