The three routes through the Strait of Hormuz

In a bid to control traffic through the narrow waterway, Iran has designated routes going through their territorial waters. The UN’s International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and Oman have introduced an alternative southern route, and despite security risks vessels are still also using the central pre-war route.
