Democrats flipped at least seven Republican-held Senate seats

Democratic Senate candidates improved on former Vice President Kamala Harris' 2024 margin in nearly every county in these races. Each circle is a county, placed by its margin in the 2024 presidential race and the 2026 Senate race. Circles are sized by each county's vote count.

Note: Results are preliminary and may change as more votes are counted — particularly in Maine towns that haven't finished reporting. Maine reports results by town, so CNN combined town results into county totals for both years. The percentage of 2026 votes reporting isn't available for Maine counties. Maine's 2026 overseas absentee ballots aren't assigned to a town and, therefore, aren't included. Alaska isn't shown because it reports results by state House district, not by county or borough. Vertical position within each row is random to reduce overlap.
